I received a call from the managing team of a growing and well-known Dairy Manufacture in that's a passion for bringing high-quality dairy products from the state of Wisconsin has stretched over 6 generations. They are currently seeking a Purchasing Specialist, to oversee all ingredient and supply purchases for their state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. They are looking for someone who can hit the ground running; guiding and supporting the procurement process that maximizes value and drives cost savings.
Procurement Specialist Responsibilities
Negotiate best possible pricing when buying products and communicate with suppliers to enhance purchases and drive down costs. Monitor supplier performance, analyze existing contracts, and negotiate terms and conditions. Manage the vendor selection process and coordinate the contract management process. Create and track purchase orders and delivery of items. Work closely with the internal teams and ensure all goods are delivered on time and on budget. Monitor production and supply of materials, adjust orders, and renegotiate contracts. Develop strategic plans for procurement that meets company's long-term needs.
Knowledge of the Purchasing and Procurement modules in ERP/MRP systems, preferable Process Pro - Global Procurement Specialist Essential Job Functions:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field preferred 2 years of experience in Procurement. Experience in the Dairy or Food Manufacturing industry is preferred. Ability to use data to drive decisions and improve processes. Knowledge of ordering, stocking, warehousing, shipping, and costing. Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
