Job Description: Quality Manager
- Develop and implement comprehensive quality control programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with USDA regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct thorough inspections and audits of incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products to identify any quality issues and take corrective actions as needed.
- Monitor and analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends and patterns. Provide recommendations for process improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, processing, packaging, and logistics, to ensure that quality is integrated into all aspects of the operations.
- Lead and train the quality team in conducting inspections, tests, and audits, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to ensure their continuous development.
- Coordinate and manage third-party audits and certifications and maintain accurate records of all quality-related activities.
- Investigate customer complaints and resolve any quality issues in a timely and effective manner, maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
- Stay up to date with the latest industry regulations, standards, and best practices, and proactively recommend and implement changes to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in food science, food technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management, preferably in the seafood or food processing industry.
- Strong knowledge of USDA regulations, HACCP, GMPs, and other quality and food safety standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to analyze complex data.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Proven track record of leading and developing a high-performing quality team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Certified Quality Manager (CQM) credentials preferred.
