What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Agronomist - Now Hiring position at GPAC?
Gpac is partnered with a well-established ag company that has been serving its customers for over seven decades across the Mid-Atlantic region in their search for a Sales Agronomist.Our client company sells agronomy products (seed, chemical & fertilizer) direct to farmers in the area. Due to continued growth our client company needs to hire a Sales Agronomist that has over five years of experience in the agronomy industry.
This position will cover a territory of multiple counties across Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia. The ideal candidate MUST live in the sales territory and have the ability to work from home, only having to commute to the headquarters when necessary.
Sales Agronomist Experience Needed:
- 5 years of agronomy experience
- 2-5 years of agronomy sales experience (chemical, seed or fertilizer)
- MUST have experience growing a book of business
- Experience making agronomic recommendations
- Agronomist experience is preferred (soil sampling, crop scouting, grid sampling, etc)
- Knowledge of plant pathology, plant science, soil science, crop production or variation of the following would be preferred
- Knowledge of Animal Health & Nutrition would be a plus as the Sales Agronomist will be working closely with livestock producers on a daily basis
Sales Agronomist Responsibilities:
- Sell agronomy products direct to growers (chemical, seed & fertilizer)
- Make agronomic recommendations that best fit the needs of the grower
- Cold call & visit farmers on a daily basis during the sales season
- Soil sampling & crop scouting when needed (sales will be the main focus of this position)
Sales Agronomist Compensation/Benefits:
- $70,000-$100,000 base salary (DOE)
- Commission & Bonus Opportunity
