Service Manager
The Service Manager is responsible for managing the activities of the service department team and handles customer service interactions, reports, and repairs. Duties include hiring and training new employees, as well as managing and leading them to be effective in their roles. It also entails taking customer service calls both by both phone and email. The Service Manager is responsible for creating performance reports on a daily/monthly basis and double-checking employees’ completed tasks.
Service Manager Job Responsibilities:
The service manager job description consists of the following duties, tasks, and responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Service team
- Delegating and directing service tasks, monitoring the progress of current projects, and managing service team members to ensure the team's goals are met.
- Handling customer complaints or concerns quickly and professionally to maintain good customer relationships and ensure repeat customers.
- Ensuring that administrative tasks, such as managing and updating invoices, processing new orders, and tracking inventory are completed daily.
- Resolving service problems and improving service methods to increase the department's productivity and customer service.
- Monitoring department issues and client complaints to create methods to lessen recurring issues.
- Auditing work and customer service to ensure the company's standards, efficiency, and productivity goals are met.
- Helping to train new employees in company procedures.
- Maintaining a strong working knowledge of industry regulations, restrictions, and laws, ensuring the company's adherence to these regulations, and remaining current on the industry's standards and new innovations, materials, tools, and processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Service Manager Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in business, administration, or related field.
- Previous sales and management experience may be advantageous.
- Strong industry knowledge.
- Excellent leadership, communication, sales, and customer service skills.
- Computer literacy and good organizational skills.
- Strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work under pressure and handle stress.
