The Quality Control Manager/CWI is responsible to oversee the application of the Quality Assurance/Quality Control Program, including inspections, weld procedures, material receiving, audits, paperwork, working in a misc. Metals and Steel fabrication shop environment, being involved in 'Code Work' and auditing of all QC paperwork prior to submittal.

Metals and Steel fabrication shop environment, being involved in 'Code Work' and auditing of all QC paperwork prior to submittal.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with QMS and AISC's certification requirements.
- Document Control for QC and Welding
- Understanding and working knowledge of construction codes and standards and the application of effective quality control measures
- Read and understand material and welding specs per contract documents.
- Understanding of welding procedures and welder qualifications (WPS, PQR, WPQ, etc.)
- Writing Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
- Organizing and Qualifying non prequalified WPS
- Organizing and Qualifying in house Welders
- Prepare Job Specific Weld package Submittals
- Manage and follow project specific QA/QC plans (Quality Plans, ITP's, etc.) in coordination with the Project Team, the owner/client, applicable specifications, codes, and contract documents.
- Arrange for Third Party testing and inspections. Analyze and report results
- Perform in house inspections. Checking fit up and layout to assure assemblies are built to the prints.
- Coating Inspections.
- Assure thorough paperwork is created and maintained and auditing of paperwork is taking place in the following areas:
- Welder's Logs
- Weld Rod Control
- Welder Testing, Continuity, Procedures, Qualifications
- NDT
- Project specific requirements
- COC
- MTRs
- AWS CWI required.
- Have demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing and solving problems.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office and G Suite.
- Communication: excellent oral presentation and written skills required.
- Organizational: able to plan, prioritize, organize.
- Collaboration: Able to work well in a group environment and foster a team approach.
