What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Analyst position at GQR?
Seeking a Data Analyst who will collaborate with Business, System Integration and Cloud data architects, ETL Integration Specialists, and the Power BI dashboard development teams who support our BI Enterprise DW development efforts.
Role
- Engage with Business Analysts to understand requirements and translate them into technical specs and logical & physical models that support Analytical Reports and Dashboards.
- Design and develop data models applying best practices for optimum performance.
- Establish data dictionaries to support the buildout of a data governance infrastructure.
- Design and develop DDL scripts and ad hoc queries for high-performance projects and deliverables.
- Document project-specific processes and data flows, data dependencies, data definitions, and relevant business rules.
- Perform functional testing, unit testing, and test case preparation using required tools based on project needs.
Qualifications
Three or more years of experience in data mining, database design & development, data modeling, and data governance with exposure to multiple database platforms (DB2, Hana, SQL Server) and a thorough understanding of Star, Snowflake, and Data Vault design schemas.
Required experience
- R, Python, MML, SAS Enterprise Miner, or similar tool that supports on-demand, real-time analytic services.
- ETL tools (SAP BW ETL, Informatica, etc.)
- Metadata repository tools (AQT, ErWin DC, etc.)
- Power BI reports & dashboards.
- Ability to write and execute complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
- Cloud/Microservice architecture (Azure Cloud, MuleSoft, etc.).
- Proficiency with shell scripting.
- Proficiency in data transformation, consolidating data from multiple disparate sources, develop process workflows and wireframe sketches.
