Innovation Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will conduct research on emerging technologies, competitor offerings, assist with innovation projects and help design and create innovative technical solutions. He/she will be a collaborative partner delivering innovative ideas, solutions and services to meet growth objectives. This role will work on a number of projects and initiatives with customers at varying levels within the organization. This individual will utilize their technical competency to perform external market and technical research, design, perform market research tests and participate in proof of concept and prototype testing.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Drive strategic research that will identify and evaluate technologies to build new innovations at Grabber and support the execution of innovative ideas already in the pipeline

• Develop and field qualitative and quantitative voice of customer research distributors in market
• Work with the sales organization to engage with contractors to conduct this research and capture data
• Codify the data collected and make recommendations to drive the future of the assigned projects and the innovation portfolio as a whole
• Provide input and guidance around product, systems and service design and innovation
• Proactively anticipate obstacles or areas of concern and help identify potential solutions
• Assist with the evaluation and selection of new technologies that align with identified opportunities
• Assist with testing new technology and provide feedback to project teams and vendors
• May be called upon to handle other duties as required

SKILL, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability and willingness to travel several nights a month 25-50%

• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs of equipment on uneven ground
• Computer skills: proficient in online meeting tools, skilled in Power Point, intermediate Excel skills
• Skilled in basic market research tools and methods with practical experience
• Excellent communication skills and ability to engage customers at different levels - Foremen to the owner
• High level of comfort on construction site and basic understanding of how trades operate and trade language
• Excellent organizational skills; ability to create and work a tactical plan to execute the research needed for the assigned projects
• Hunger for being on the forefront of innovation and the desire to help shape the future of the innovation portfolio and the business at large
• Bachlors degree in Marketing prefered
