What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant to Engineer 5J position at Grace Pacific LLC?
Principal Duties:
Plans transportation routes of heavy equipment, as well as knowing all applicable traffic rules and regulations.
Must be able to operate heavy equipment as needed.
Follows low boy and block out traffic as required.
Assisting in loading and offloading heavy equipment.
Controls hydraulic ramp as needed on the low boy.
Adheres to DOT, OHSA, safety and company regulations.
Work Hours: May work overtime, weekends, at night, or holidays as required by jobs.
Principal Requirements:
Must be able to carry up to 40 lbs., must be able to climb, sit, stand, walk, twist, and bend, reach above shoulder, be able to dive at night, kneel and squat, hand feet dexterity, be able to work noisy environment, as well as exposure to extreme temperatures and dust, chemicals, and fumes.
Must have CDL Type A, ability to drive and operate low boy, provide a favorable Hawaii Driver History Record, Valid DL, and ability to meet DOT requirements for commercial vehicle drivers.
We primarily employ carpenters, laborers, and operating engineers. We are signatory to collective bargaining agreements with the following unions listed below and are subject to the hiring rules of each collective bargaining agreement. We anticipate hiring for projects on Oahu, Maui, Hawaii, and Kauai as work becomes available and will be contacting the respective union to fill these positions.
