What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cardiac Sonographer position at Grady Health System?
SUMMARY
Perform cardiac echosonography procedures for an adult patient is the primary responsibility. Assist cardiologist in performing various echocardiographic procedures. Operate and maintain equipment in safe condition. Evaluate echocardiograms for technical quality and provides summary report. Provide patient care essential to echocardiographic procedures in compliance with all Joint Commission standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (CCI or RDMS) with minimum of one year experience in cardiac echosonography
- Must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of anatomy, physiology and pathology as it relates to echocardiography
- Demonstrate proficiency in the performance of M-mode, two-dimensional and Doppler (pulsed wave, continuous wave, and color flow) echocardiographic diagnostic procedures
- Must be familiar with stress, transesophageal, intraoperative, contrast echocardiography and echo guided procedures
