Cashier/Service Crew

The most important aspects of the Cashier server role are building customer relationships, dealing with customer questions, and ensuring that our customers are having a great experience.

Summary of Position:

The Cashier performs a variety of duties for counter service including greeting/saying farewell to customers, building relationships, receiving payments, maintaining cash drawers, stocking counters, and keeping the dining area and cashier area clean and organized.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Greet every customer, build real relationships, enjoy getting to know our customers. Be happy.
• Know all our product builds and how we speak to the food. Be able to answer basic allergy questions.
• Be able to read customers and know how to approach specific situations.
• Understand our product differentiators. Understand what makes Grainmaker's food special.
• Understand what Grainmaker is all about. Understand our brand and concept and be able to communicate it to our guests.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workstation, dining room and bathrooms.
• Maintain sanitation standards. Know when to wear gloves and when to change gloves. Know how to correctly wash hands. Know how and when to use sanitizer.
• Follow the cash handling procedures closely and correctly. Be honest.
• Know how to prepare all food items, work directly with customers to solve problems, and have the ability to smile and communicate properly with the customer.
• Enter guest orders accurately and efficiently into the POS system.
• Process cash, credit, gift card, and debit card transactions.
• Understand how to use the Mobile App system. Proactively sign customers up for the Mobile App.
• Understand all discounts, voids, and comp types and use them correctly following Grainmaker policies.
• Understand what Up Selling is and what key products we should always be up-selling.
• Answer phones correctly following Grainmaker procedures.
• Perform any additional side work needed, such as sweeping the line during the rush and emptying trash barrels.
• Follow the Cashier Checklist and complete all pre-shift and close-out work in a timely manner in accordance with Grainmaker standards.
• Be able to serve customers professionally and quickly in a fast-paced environment.
