What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Desktop Manager position at Grambling State University?
The service desktop manager will develop, implement, and oversee policies in addition to procedures ensuring consistent service levels for student lab/classroom technologies.
- Manage incoming desktop support work orders to ensure courteous, timely and effective resolution of end user issues.
- Ensure compliance with GSU/STC policies and procedures (employment, payroll, training) for GSU/Student employees.
- Monitor and complete inventory for all movable property related to desktop hardware.
- Train, coach and mentor desktop technicians and student technology consultants
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in management information systems or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two years of experience
- The successful candidate must have extensive application and desktop support experience, technical knowledge of current systems software, and hands-on software/hardware troubleshooting experience.
- The successful candidate must have effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills, strong written skills, and oral communication skills
- 2 years of supervisory experience
