We put people first, drive innovation, and do good in the community that we live and work in. Grand Canyon Education is seeking a Full Stack Java Developer to build full-stack web applications. This includes frontend and backend of web development using modern JavaScript and Java frameworks. You will design and implement backend web services, troubleshoot web applications, write unit tests, and develop the frontend as needed. Build full stack web applications Design and implement web services Troubleshoot web application issues Write tests to ensure code quality Communicate project problems and solutions effectively Use development tools for optimizing and testing code Passionate about code quality Participate in learning and development activities Follow industry and team standards for source control utilizing Azure DevOps Responsibilities Build modern web applications based on Java (Spring Boot, Hibernate), Javascript ( React/Redux, Node.js), HTML, and CSS expertise Experience in developing with Spring MVC framework, Spring Core, Spring Security and Spring Boot Experience in developing with Hibernate (Hibernate ORM, Hibernate Search, Hibernate Valiator, etc) Practical object-oriented software design skills Experience with Core Java, Design patterns, and advanced data structures/algorithms at minimum Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) experience Experience developing data-driven server-side software in Java Experience developing effective APIs, RESTful services, Microservices design, and development Proficient in SQL and complex relational database design Practical experience, as well as a deep understanding of service-side and middle-tier technologies, is a must: middle-tier frameworks, caching strategies/solutions, messaging/queuing Desire and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing, dynamic environment. Excellent communication and skills are expected Preferred to Have: Familiarity with Web 2.0 technologies: JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, Angular, and React desired Requirements At least 2 years of training or industry experience A history of passion towards learning to code (Ex. blogs, side projects, actual client projects, etc).
