Grand Canyon University is seeking a Police Aide. This is a full-time, non-sworn position responsible for supporting the Grand Canyon University (GCU) Public Safety Department mission associated with the protection, safety, and welfare of students, employees, visitors, and property within the area under the control and jurisdiction of Grand Canyon University Responsibilities: Prepare a variety of written police reports. Respond to initial calls for service by phone and/or in-person not requiring the presence of a sworn police officer. Such calls may include but are not limited to, minor traffic collisions, theft, criminal damage, vandalism, etc. Conduct investigative follow-up as directed by a supervisor, to include reviewing of surveillance video footage. Understanding of state laws, rules and regulations governing safety and security on college campus and at college events and meets compliance with Clery Act, VAWA and Title IX related requirements. Interaction with GCU students, faculty, staff, leadership and guests. May be called upon to drive a GCU motor vehicle or golf cart. Maintain and request supplies and equipment via chain-of-command. Qualifications: High School Diploma Retired or prior law enforcement experience preferred Possession of CPR, First Aid certification card preferred. Possession of a valid driver’s license and good driving record; must be insurable.
