Responsibilities
The Nurse Practitioner working for the Trauma, Acute Care Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care department, shall deliver comprehensive patient care for this designated patient population throughout the care continuum. The Nurse Practitioner will function as a clinical expert for this population and will work in collaboration with the multidisciplinary and inter professional team to coordinate and deliver all aspects of care, including initial resuscitation, intensive care management, and discharge planning. The Nurse Practitioner will perform patient assessments and coordinate patient management autonomously, with physician collaboration and supervision as appropriate, and in accordance with hospital policies and Pennsylvania State legislation. The Nurse Practitioner's scope of practice includes the following elements: direct patient care, medical and procedural intervention, operative first assistance, education, performance and quality improvement.
Qualifications
