Job description
The position of the Production Manager is of great significance in the Grandma Hoerner's organization as they are responsible for all; production scheduling, coordinating, organizing and control, supporting all safety protocols as required, and working closely with all Production and Technical Services Management. They work in collaboration with the; food safety/OSHA safety production planning/quality/R & D/purchasing/logistics/inventory staff while reporting directly to the Plant Manager.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and schedule production activities that require the management of; human, equipment and material resources to meet; daily, monthly and annual production targets.
- Analyze production and quality controls data and/or reports to; detect/define/direct/manage/implement Identified issues thru such tools as; Great Plains, downtime, batch sheet, recipes, loss and/or re-handle logs.
- Prepare, maintain and support reports related to; production costs, quality, manufacturing time standards, loss, down time, man-hours, purchasing/logistics/inventory thru use of tools related to; utilization, efficiency, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators).
- Support management and implementation of all required OSHA and maintenance; planning and scheduling as required.
- Support and supply input towards the planning and implementation of the annual operations budget.
- Ensure and support adherence to all the implemented; food and OSHA safety/quality/operating procedures and processes by working with key staff members or departments to effectively execute the policies and goals for the organization.
- Effective management of: food and OSHA safety, production shifts, manufacturing time standards, efficiencies, scrap down time, etc. in the organization thru optimum use of all available resource.
- Support purchasing/logistics/inventory needs as required.
- Review analytical production and quality controls and/or reports to correct identified issues thru such tools as; downtime, batch sheet, recipes, loss and/or re-handle logs.
- Manage production budgets aggressively while continuing to strive for implementation of; cost reductions, control processes and/or procedures that will directly effect: utilization, efficiency and OEE.
- General production staff; interviewing, hiring, discipline, termination, temp services, etc. based on observed and practiced human services industry standards in coordination with and the direction of the Production Manager.
- Maintenance of all reports related to; production out-puts, recipes, food safety, quality, manufacturing time standards, loss, re-handle, down time, man-hours, etc.
- Supply input towards improving and/or implementation of manufacturing flow throughout the facility.
- Collaborate, coordinate and communicate professionally between relevant departments including; food and OSHA safety, quality, R & D, purchasing/logistics/inventory, finance, and sales/marketing staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School degree, diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from an accredited college with:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in related field of study with (1) year minimum experience as a production manager with multiple direct reports.
or
- High School degree, diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from an accredited college with:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited college in related field of study with (3) years’ minimum experience as a production manager.
