What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager position at Grandview Cabinetry?
This position will be responsible for the execution of technical projects to support continuous improvement. This role will report to the Director of KS Operations. The Project Manager will work very closely with both production personnel and other members of management. This position is responsible for deploying, implementing, and leading projects/continuous improvement initiatives and facilitating world class operations management methodologies for the Grandview facilities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a strong purposeful team supporting the mission-driven culture in line with corporate vision.
- Develop short- and long-term goals for your department to meet objectives.
- Identifies, evaluates, justifies, and implements new manufacturing technology into product designs and assembly processes.
- Performs research and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment.
- Conceives, plans, and conducts process improvement and cost-reduction studies on current products and processes.
- Maintains plant layout and develops new layout as additional equipment/processes are developed
- Champions safety and works with the team to put safety first throughout the facility
- Develops and deploys the Grandview Production System
- Value Stream Mapping, Communication and Planning to all levels of the Organization to optimize planning of efficiency and productivity
- Identifies the highest value projects using 2x calculations
- Collects needed resources to complete projects in agreed timelines
- Identifies and deploys training and standard work opportunities to sustain improvements
Skills & Abilities
- Proficiency in using AutoCAD programs
- Strong statistical analysis background and technical problem-solving ability
- Proven leadership experience leading internal and external teams
- Effective communication (both written and verbal) skills, Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to manage simultaneous projects
- General knowledge of production control/scheduling systems
- Drive culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (preferred)
- Cabinetry industry experience (preferred)
- Experienced in Lean Six Sigma and 6S Manufacturing principles
- Continuous Improvement/Project Management experience with proven project management experience in delivering timely, cost effective, process improvement driven projects and sound engineering judgment.
