Job Title: Creative Designer II (Mid-level Designer)
Position Summary
The Creative Designer II is a mid-level position in the Creative division that is charged with creating high–impact designs intended to engage, attract, and sell. The mid-level Designer also may work closely with external clients, account managers, and business development staff. The Designer II is responsible for the design, layout and formatting of materials. Designs may integrate typographic, photographic, illustrative, and other elements.
Essential Functions
Design and create a variety of skilled creative projects from conception to execution.
Oversee and manage internal and external clients and work with senior level staff to provide periodic status reports.
Develop, design or create new ideas, relationships, systems, or products.
Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
Organize, plan, and prioritize work by developing specific goals and plans to accomplish work.
Consistently deliver high quality services to all customers both internal and external.
Increase user friendliness in digital projects including web design, e-mail,
app design, etc.
Possesses a solid understanding of project lifecycle and ability to appropriately manage resources within budget and project schedule.
Develop and implement design language.
Work with Data Processing/Pre-Media team in the design/branding of documents to be used in variable data.
Conceptualize and develop artwork for projects within a brand group following
brand guidelines including applying proper typography techniques, fonts, and layouts using design software; research, develop, present and execute all photography campaign direction.
Maintain brand standards by which leadership has set and uphold creative excellence expectations.
Provides personal accountability for the accuracy of all final art for assigned projects including trim, bleed, crop marks, size, color setting, etc.
Assist in the facilitation of team and client meetings and may lead meetings, as needed.
Manage relationships with freelance designers and photographers including proper handling of invoice payments.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements:
4-year college degree in a related field and/or Associates Degree in Graphic Design is preferred.
3-5 years of experience in the design field.
Must have a strong sense of concept development, in addition to communication, research, problem–solving and presentation skills.
Design ability and proficiency in software applications such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Microsoft Suite is required.
Web design and photography skills are a plus.
Excellent communication and time management skills required.
Stay up-to-date technically through professional organizations, workshops, and apply and share new skills.
Valid driver’s license required.
Up to 10% travel required to client worksites.
