Position Summary:
The Events Manager will research, plan, manage and assist in the execution of assigned events for the resort. This position is a key member of the promotions and events team responsible for taking ownership of their assigned areas. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices, and procedures.
Essential Functions:
1. Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting Graton Resort & Casino's core values and demonstrating Exemplary Service Standards at all times.
2. Plan and execute casino events & entertainment, both domestic and international, to include creating and developing concepts and themes, managing creative process for invitations and collateral, and ensuring consistent best practices are applied.
3. Collaborate on entertainment, décor and theme creation of New Year's Eve and Chinese New Year Galas.
4. Develop and give direction for unique, high-profile corporate special events through collaboration with senior executives of Casino Marketing and various other members of leadership while ensuring departmental practices are compliant with company policies and legal requirements.
5. Conduct and drive all planning meetings, gift presentations, and other important functions specific to the planning of International Marketing events in partnership with property Special Events teams.
6. Collaborate with Entertainment and International Marketing leadership to drive Far East and other international-themed concerts in Las Vegas.
7. Partner with Corporate Casino Marketing to assist with the creation and maintenance of the Corporate Special Event calendar.
8. Provide input into the research, development, evaluation and implementation of new products,
services, technology and processes to ensure the company's competitive position in anticipation of
changing customer needs within the dynamic hospitality and gaming environment.
9. Domestic and International travel is required to deliver results for international events or marketing trips.
10. Manage assigned event and promotions areas to ensure successful resort events and promotions including casino tournaments, events; resort wide seasonal or other marketing and promotion activations including F&B, retail and entertainment.
11. Assist F&B, HR, Entertainment departments with planning and operation of events.
12. Coordinate with multiple resort departments and outside vendors for event execution.
13. Assist with creative requests for graphic design team and advertising agency.
14. Assist Director in tracking and reporting of collateral request timelines and statuses.
15. Manage assigned event logistics including registration and post event surveys and feedback.
16. Manage hourly and temp events staff for assigned event areas.
17. Coordinate with Las Vegas entertainment venues as needed to develop off-site events.
18. Attend assigned events to oversee execution and provide event support.
19. Stay informed on trends and technologies in the event and related industries.
20. Collaborate with other events and promotions team members to create post event reports and
summaries to with recommendations on items for enhancement to ensure continual improvement.
21. Mentor coordinator level event & promotions staff and provide regular feedback and evaluations.
22. Ensure departmental practices are compliant with company policies and legal requirements.
23. Occasional travel may be required to assist in the operation of marketing trips.
24. Ensure assigned promotions and event assets and collateral are updated and displayed correctly throughout property.
25. Work with player services desk and hotel leadership to ensure all event and promotions rules and details are communicated and available as needed.
26. Create event and promotion fact sheets and distribute to key departments throughout resort.
27. Create welcome letters, identify and recommend gifts and manage their distribution.
28. Manage required HR functions for assigned coordinator and hourly Team Members.
29. Ensure that required licensing is maintained & updated.
30. Use personal device/cellular phone for job related operational tasks, job duties, review of company documents, etc.
31. Other duties as assigned.
