We are seeking Production Supervisor to work in our Glasgow, DE manufacturing plant.
Summary: The Production Supervisor will plan, schedule, implement, and monitor production activities, ensuring contract requirements, product specifications, and deadlines are met.
Essential Functions:
- Understand, follow, and enforce all safety procedures. Monitor plant for near-miss events.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area. Maintain 6S conditions in all areas at all times.
- Schedule production for each manufacturing line in conjunction with sales needs. Adjust operator assignments as required.
- Mentor the staff and operators of each department in the proper methods of operation to ensure that Graver Technologies quality standards are maintained.
- Maintain staffing at appropriate levels in order to achieve promised ship dates.
- Understand, follow, and enforce all policies in the Employee Handbook and train employees who need help with the policies.
- Monitor key performance indicators for department(s). Take appropriate actions when department goals are not being met in order to get the metrics in line with the goals.
- Expeditiously communicate any quality and maintenance issues to appropriate personnel. Provide the data necessary to help properly dispose of non-conforming material and resolve issue.
- Ensure all operations conform to our ISO 9001:2015 standards and any future standards.
- Investigate and take appropriate corrective actions to all CAF’s and CAPA’s as assigned.
- Take a lead role in the training of new operators in the department. Ensure that each understands that Graver Technologies has respectful workplace policies and each is expected to stringently follow them.
- Resolve conflicts within the departments and engage Human Resources and/or management when necessary. Provide the appropriate write-ups for any employee who deserves such action.
- Review daily output to ensure that production goals are achieved or exceeded.
- Promote the CIP program and coach others in the department as to the value of these suggestions. Implement CIP’s as assigned.
- Participate in lean manufacturing events as assigned.
- Review current operations to assist in the development of new standards to improve overall efficiencies.
- Provide daily communication with staff and management by reviewing all relevant information. Participate in the daily walk-thru’s and production review meetings.
- Respond to all building related security/safety issues.
- Maintain virtual inventory in Chempax. Participate in cycle counts and physical inventories as scheduled.
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, tooling is in good condition, etc.
- Provide 24/7 support to departments by responding to calls during off hours.
- Manage and control departmental expenditure within agreed budgets.
- Actively participate in S&OP meetings.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position supervises all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and interview and selection of potential new employees within that department.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Possess a minimum of two years supervisory experience.
- Ability to read and understand specifications.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally.
