Gray Matter Group is looking for dependable and trustworthy candidates to work as highly skilled data center technicians. In this role, duties will include installing and upgrading system components and providing network support. Data Center technicians will also be expected to perform maintenance and repairs on servers and network equipment.
To ensure success as a data center technician within gray data, candidates should be proficient with Microsoft Office, Windows 10, and Mac OS. Candidates should be driven, take the initiative when possible, and, most importantly, be dependable and trustworthy. We rely on our data center technicians to ensure optimal efficiency of data center infrastructure and expect them to take proactive measures to prevent damage and/or loss of components, servers, and networks. data center technician responsibilities:
Monitoring and performing ongoing maintenance on servers and network equipment;
Providing IT support to our headquarters in Cleveland, as well as responding to the server and network issues;
Protecting company assets by preventing the overheating of data center components;
Running hardware diagnostics and replacing failing parts in a timely manner;
Monitoring all network processes to ensure all equipment is online and hashing at peak performance;
Upgrading system components, including, but not limited to, PSUs, firmware, and cables;
Documenting processes and keeping event logs;
Advise on procurement of new data center equipment; and
Tracking trends in data center technologies. data center technician requirements:
An associate's degree in computer science, information technology, blockchain, or similar is preferred but NOT required.
Candidates currently working toward a degree are also encouraged to apply.

Knowledge in building computer systems;
Knowledge of data center environments, servers, and network equipment;
Experience in installing, monitoring, and maintaining computer hardware;
Ability and desire to closely monitor trends in data center infrastructure and technologies,
ASIC servers, blockchains, and cryptocurrencies;
Proficiency in documenting network processes;
Exceptional communication skills and ability to work safely;
Willingness to work second or third shift and to respond to network and server errors after hours;
Must be able to lift at least 70 pounds (physically demanding job).

Data center technicians start at $19.23 per hour with additional short-term and long-term incentives
