About WGEM:

WGEM is the dominant NBC affiliate located in Quincy, Illinois. We serve the Tri-States region consisting of Illinois, Missouri and Iowa. WGEM is currently in a state-of-the-art remodeling project in Production Control which will streamline operations. Exciting times are ahead at WGEM.

Job Summary/Description:

We are looking for an energetic person to shoot local high school and college sports to bring the games back to our viewers in the tri-states.  This is a sportsperson's dream job. You will have the opportunity to grow your skills in every aspect of sports broadcasting while working in a brand-new digital newsroom. 

We're looking for a sports storyteller who is comfortable on both broadcast and digital platforms. You'll go beyond the game and tell stories about the true character of athletes, coaches, and the communities that support local high school and college teams. You'll also shoot highlights of local high school and college sports and call those highlights during our WGEM Sports Extra broadcasts. There will also be an opportunity for some sports anchoring/producing.

Please note - primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the information listed above 

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Experience with Edius and ENPS is a plus
- The chosen candidate will have a college degree in a related field and prior on-camera experience
