Job Summary/Description:

We have an immediate opening for an Evening News Anchor to round out our award-winning team of on-air journalists. WIS is looking for a newsroom leader and self-starter to help contribute to our content on all platforms, including on-air, digital, social and OTT. This is a high-profile role at a dominant, legacy news station. The position requires poise, journalistic integrity, and the ability to hold and build an audience both on-air and digital.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Anchor early evening/evening newscasts, along with breaking news and special coverage
• Help write and edit news stories and teases
• Enterprise and create content for all news platforms
• Cover news live in the field when needed
• Engage and curate audience on WIS-TV social media accounts
• Make personal appearances on behalf of station
• Serve as an ambassador for WIS-TV in the community

Qualifications/Requirements:

• 3-5 years experience as News Anchor
• Superb communication skills
• Ability to connect with a sophisticated & engaged audience
• Commitment to excellence and ability to excel on a news team focused on winning
• Strong news judgement
• Clear understanding of journalistic ethics

Experience

• 3 - 5 years: experience as News Anchor
