The Apis Hotel & Restaurant
The Apis Hotel & Restaurant is a multi-level concept featuring a full-service restaurant, multiple event spaces, a stunning rooftop bar, and 6 premium guestrooms. The Apis Bartender
The Apis Bartenders are primary representatives of the restaurant to all guests. Bartenders are responsible for assembling and serving alcoholic beverages, while guiding guests through The Apis experience. Apis Bartenders are expected to give service that is knowledgeable, approachable, efficient, energetic, and thoughtful at all times while upholding company standards and values in a busy, fast paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and guide the guests’ complete dining & bar experience at The Apis
- Provide knowledgeable, approachable, efficient, energetic, and thoughtful service at all times
- Appropriately manage guest expectations, beginning with a verbal introduction to our unique food & beverage menu formats, and continuing with necessary communications to all guests as it relates to the execution of their order
- Expert knowledge of food and beverage menu items including the major components of all dishes and drinks––this includes knowledge of ingredients and their source, the ability to offer simple descriptions of unfamiliar ingredients, and basic knowledge of Apis standards of food & beverage preparation
- Understand and execute food safety and allergies protocols
- Adhere to all company service standards and protocols
- Ensure food and beverage arrive to all bar guests quickly and correctly; confirming guest satisfaction
- Ensure proper bar maintenance, including water service, pre-bussing, resetting of plates and tableware throughout the guest experience, clearing & cleaning of the bar and bar tables, and the resetting of bar tables with proper tableware
- Adeptly provide wine service, including the sale and presentation of all wines by the bottle
- Confident and correct use of POS system for order entry and payment processing
- Ensure guests are charged correctly and receive proof of payment in a timely manner
- Uphold Apis standards of quality when assembling alcoholic beverages for guests
- Responsible service of all alcoholic beverages
- Support team with beverage service to all dining room areas
- Stocking and preparing bar service related items
- Maintain the cleanliness of bar tools and bar areas
- Support other team members in the completion of their duties to ensure satisfaction of all guests before, during, and after service
- Assist other team members by communicating 86s, menu changes, and other beverage related information
- Engage management for any guest issue or complaint
- Additional service and/or operational tasks as determined by management
- Be knowledgeable of the restaurant and its history
- Communicate respectfully with coworkers at all levels
- Adhere to grooming and dress code standards
Skills & Requirements
- Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Bartender License as issued by the City of Kenosha
- Strong interest in all manner of food and beverage, and a passion for the service industry
- Strong desire to expand beverage knowledge and a passion for continued learning as it relates to beverage service
- Receptive to constructive criticism & performance feedback
- Ability to demonstrate quick thinking and adaptability in a constantly changing environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must possess exceptional work ethic, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative attitude
Physical Demands
- The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for 4 to 8 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours. These physical requirements may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations
