Lead and coach a highly efficient Quality Assurance team, create a culture of continuous learning and development.
Manage daily activities of the team, ownership of budget and project delivery for complex project with critical business value.
Provide clear goals, objectives and priorities to your team in line with overall QA objectives, roadmap and focusing on business needs.
Accurately assess the strengths and development needs of team members, giving timely feedback and coaching.
Ensure new members of the team receive adequate training.
Clarify roles and responsibilities and ensure employees are adhering to them.
Recognize and remove barriers to progress, escalate as necessary.
Work closely with Director of Quality Assurance to help promote and provide a clear vision, strategy and best practices.
Manage test strategy and execution for cross product initiatives.
Drive implementation and adoption of highly functional teams with efficiencies and automation at the forefront.
Ensure real-time reporting and metrics are communicated in the right level of detail based on audience.
Able to adapt communication approach based on audience at various levels.
Take a proactive approach, anticipating and preventing issues.
Partner with stakeholders to accurately set and manage expectations and proactively provide updates.
Increase customer and business satisfaction by deepening relationships through thought leadership.
Bring forward solutions to complex issues and negotiate to closure.
Able to manage an onshore/offshore QA operating model effectively.
Qualifications
BS in Computer Science or equivalent
10 years experience in IT/Quality Assurance
5 years experience managing a technical team in software QA or development
Expert knowledge of software quality assurance best practices
Demonstrated experience in developing cross functional teams focused on end to end delivery
Demonstrated ability to work independently with an aptitude for leading quality assurance teams along with a proven history of making product lifecycle process improvements
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Commercial insurance experience is a plus
