What are the responsibilities and job description for the Door Technician position at Great Atlantic Management?
Great Atlantic Contracting has been in the construction and renovation industry since 1977. We are locally owned, based in Virginia Beach, VA, and currently operate 17 self-storage facilities throughout Virginia. We are currently looking to expand our operations and have an opening for a Door Technician. This role will help us replace and install new garage-style roll-up doors as well as swing doors of all types, and repair existing doors.
Primary Duties:
- Door and track tear outs.
- Installation of new doors and frames/tracks.
- Repair existing doors.
Role Requirements:
- Must have a general understanding of installation and retrofit of commercial or residential garage-style doors and associated hardware, such as jambs, springs, and hinges. Knowledge of swing door or storefront glass installation is also acceptable.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and work off ladders.
- Adherence to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record to access company vehicles.
- Ability to use software to track jobs assigned.

- Work/Life Balance – 40-hour work week with weekends off. Schedule is Monday - Thursday 7am - 5pm.
