Job Description:
Provides direct and indirect patient care in a clinic office setting. Communicates with physicians/co-workers as appropriate about patient’s conditions including results of diagnostic studies and symptomology. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients. Interprets the appropriate information to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department’s policies and procedures/guidelines
Qualifications:
Education
- RN – Graduate from an accredited program for Registered Nurses.
- LPN – Graduate from an accredited program for Licensed Practical Nurses.
- CMA/RMA/MA – Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
Licensure/Certification:
- RN – Current license to practice nursing in the State of Iowa and complies with all guidelines within the scope of a RN.
- LPN – Current license to practice nursing in the State of Iowa and complies with all guidelines within the scope of a LPN.
- CMA/RMA – Certified Medical Assistant/Registered Medical Assistant and/or previous training or equivalent combination of education and experience and complies with all guidelines within the scope of a CMA.
- BLS certification.
- Clinical nursing completed through job training. Previous clinical experience in a medical office preferred. Must be able to provide nursing care to patients of all ages according to patient population served. Strong interpersonal skills, strong computer skills.
