What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grants Manager position at Greater Austin YMCA?
The Grants Manager leads the development, management, and reporting of all grants for our organization. You'll research, identify, create, and submit compelling grant proposals as well as cultivate relationships with current and potential foundations and corporations who help deepen our impact in the community. Additionally, you will play a critical role in supporting department goals and priorities. This position has the opportunity to be fully remote or follow our hybrid model (business office/remote).
You will also support the enterprise’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) and the core character values of the YMCA. Reporting directly to the Associate Vice President of Advancement, you will partner closely with other senior leaders throughout the enterprise to achieve outcomes.
Salary: $51,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience. Final compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.

What You'll Do:
- Partners with YMCA Advancement and program team members to aid proposal preparation and submission including comprehensive narratives reflecting the robust YMCA programs.
- Research new grant opportunities and conduct prospect research on foundations, corporations, government agencies, and individuals.
- Assist in the identification of corporations to engage with the volunteer efforts and prospect pipeline for potential grants and sponsorships in partnership with the Advancement Division.
- Partners with departments as they relate to grant development for successful funding and reporting compliance.
- Write, compile, and submit grant proposals to foundations, government agencies, and corporations.
- Coordinate with the Advancement team, executive leadership, program team members, and CEO (Chief Executive Officer) on deadlines, the timing of submissions and requests, and information-sharing.
- Collect required documentation and financials for grant submissions
- Establish and manage a comprehensive process for timely and accurate grant evaluation, quality compliance, project, and program fulfillment, and reporting to funders.
- Create and maintain an efficient and effective grant tracking and reporting system that aids the financial development efforts of the Y.
- Lead personalized stewardship to thank and reflect grantor impact of their support.
- Lead strategic cultivation efforts for building relationships with potential new funders.
- Maintain rigorous funder records in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Database System and implement an organized system of communications to steward grant partnerships regarding awards and the management of funders’ requirements for recognition.
- Assist in Y fundraising activities and extraordinary events as a key team member of the Advancement team.
- Serve as an exempt team member and perform duties as assigned by the supervisor and President/CEO of the YMCA.

What We're Looking For:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
- 3 years of experience in writing grants.
- Proven record of accomplishment securing gifts through the grant writing process
- Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising best practices
- Experience with using a Customer Relationship Management Database. Experience with Raiser’s Edge is preferred.
- Grant Professionals Certification (GPC) or related certification is a plus.
