- Collaborate: Work with teachers to implement quality early childhood programs
- Plan & Lead: Assist in lesson planning and lead activities
- Ensure Safety: Supervise activities to keep children safe
- Organize: Help maintain a neat and organized classroom
- Support: Assist in swim lessons, gym lessons, and field trips
- Communicate: Share relevant information with teachers and the director, and address child concerns appropriately
- Engage Families: Maintain professional communication with parents and guardians
- Confidentiality: Keep all information confidential
- Compliance: Help maintain state Child Care Licensing requirements
- Must be 20 years of age with a High School Diploma or GED and meet one (1) of the following qualifications:
- A Vermont Early Childhood Career Ladder Level Three (3) Certificate; or
- Associate Degree with a major or concentration in Early Childhood, Child or Human Development, Elementary Education or Child and Family Services; or
- A Certificate of Completion from the Registered Child Care Apprenticeship Program; or
- A Child Care Certificate of Completion from the Community College of Vermont; or
- Successful completion of twenty-one (21) college credits with an Early Childhood or School Age focus.
- Ability to pass federal background and state fingerprint checks
