Job Summary

The Senior Box Mobile Coordinator contributes to growing the Senior Food Box program caseload by introducing, coordinating, and assisting in the evaluation of new service delivery models like direct distribution of Senior Boxes to residents of senior buildings and establishing mobile dispatch hubs for home delivery.


Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with fellow Senior Box Coordinators and Distributions Manager to plan mobile distribution program.
  • Work closely with fellow Senior Box Coordinators and Distributions Manager to maintain accurate and timely records according to program regulations.
  • Assist the team in maintaining a positive working relationship with Hunger Free Pennsylvania, the organization that manages the Pennsylvania Senior Food Box program across the state.
  • Place accurate orders for Senior Boxes and other product as needed for each direct Senior Box distribution.
  • Work with service delivery partners such as Amazon and DoorDash to upload delivery information into their database, communicate directly with drivers during box dispatch process, and troubleshoot deliveries in real time.
  • Communicate directly with seniors enrolled in the program and/or home delivery drivers to share estimated time of arrival for pick-ups and drop-offs.
  • Lead outreach and marketing efforts to boost enrollment in new mobile distributions. 
  • Work with local organizations to identify potential enrollment streams so the program is accessible to every senior who would like to receive a box in our service area. 
  • Coordinate with Operations team and Food Access Innovations team to ensure access to agency dock for loading and Sprinter Van when needed. 
  • Load Senior Boxes onto Sprinter van and drive loaded Sprinter van to distribution locations. 
  • Physically distribute Senior Box product according to program regulations; collect and process all required paperwork. 
  • Directly enroll seniors in the Senior Box program through phone calls and in person with approved forms. 
  • Work with teams across the Food Bank as well as external stakeholders and program participants to problem solve in real-time as challenges arise. 
  • Use the following tools as needed to perform necessary functions (training provided as needed):  
  • Microsoft products and applications such as Office, Teams, Outlook 
  • The Food Bank’s enterprise resource management tool(s) including Primarius and Netsuite o Client Record Management systems like Link2Feed and Salesforce o OnFleet route optimization software 
  • Mapping tools such as Google My Maps 
  • Other duties as assigned by management 

Requirements

  • Must have a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
  • Ability and willingness to drive a Sprinter van
  • Ability to lift 35lb boxes repeatedly
  • Ability and willing to maintain positive and respectful working relationships with people of different backgrounds—including staff, volunteers, and the people we serve.
  • Experience working with senior populations and/or senior service providers preferred
  • Ability to problem solve in real time
  • Exemplary customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work a somewhat flexible schedule with occasional/limited evening or weekend work
  • Ability to obtain Act 33 and 34 clearances
