Looking for an individual who is highly creative, detail orientated and has impressive organizational skills

Organized
Able to work in a fast paced enviroment
Management of inventory
Management of the overall process of displaying inventory in the retail garden center.
Making sure inventory is displayed on time and in the right location.
Determine the correct pricing for inventory.
Track the sales and revenue of each product piece to determining best-sellers and those that need to be
replaced.
Getting to know the customer base and understanding their motivation and sales drivers.
Research market and sales trends within the industry.
Assist in the buying of product
Assist in the management of the store and facility

Some weekend hours
$14.00 - $16.00 or based on experience

DUTIES

  • Inventory
  • Inventory Control and Maintenance
  • Executing physical inventory counts throughout the calendar year
  • Plant departments are counted in the winter
  • Fairy Garden several times a year (high shrinkage)
  • Smaller items several times a year (high shrinkage)
  • Selecting inventory to be clearanced and/or stored for Front Porch Sale and next season.
  • Gift Store Manager selects items that are selling at a slower rate than average to be sold at the Front Porch Sale
  • Associates inventory selected items using Inventory Count Forms and pack the items for storage. All boxes should be marked by the appropriate Color-Coded Storage Label:
  • Front Porch Sale – Blue
  • Christmas – Red
  • Spring/Easter – Yellow
  • Holly Day Fair – Logoed
  • Fall/Halloween/Thanksgiving – Orange
  • Valentine's/St. Patrick's Day/Patriotic – Green
  • Associates make two copies of the completed Inventory Count Forms
  • 1 copy is given to Gift Store Manager
  • 1 copy is taped to the side of box in a visible location
  • Damaged Merchandise
  • Weekly, manager makes inventory adjustments in all departments while referring to the Inventory Binder, Damaged Merchandise Form
  • All adjustments made in system are categorized:
  • Shrinkage
  • Damaged
  • Dead Plants
  • Damaged Hard Goods
  • Store Use
  • Quantity Adjustment
  • This includes plants that have been stepped up to larger containers
  • Recounts if an error has been found
  • Inventory Reports
  • Monthly, reports are generated after all inventory adjustments have been made
  • Hard goods Damages
  • Green goods Damages
  • Store Use
  • 2 copies are created
  • 1 detailed of each category goes to the General Manager
  • 1 summary of each category goes to Finance Director
  • Inventory Reorders
  • Order staple items as needed, based on time of year and season. Must be approved by General Manager
  • Orders are placed via email, website orders, or phone calls
  • New Inventory
  • Entering and pricing all new inventory with accurate information and details
  • Pricing Guide
  • Refer to Pricing Guide for all pricing
  • Note: some items may be exceptions to the rule
  • Purchase Orders
  • Create all Purchase Orders to reflect invoice
  • Create tags
  • Receive Purchase Order
  • Damage Shipment Report
  • Adjusting PO for backorders and/or damaged items
  • Accuracy in Purchase Orders and vendor invoices
  • Merchandising & Buying
  • Merchandising store and new products
  • Market Trends
  • Market research
  • Seasonal look books
  • Buying for specific events and promotions
  • Holly Day Fair
  • Gift Store Operations
  • Signage and Visual direction for Green Side Up Garden & Gifts
  • Green Goods
  • Gift Store
  • Administrative Tasks
  • Office supply orders and requesting, per approval from General Manager
  • Forms and Office Use Development and Management
  • Organization and Aesthetics of gift store
  • Maintenance and organization
  • Stock room
  • Register Counter
  • Dry Greenhouse
  • Gift Store displays
  • Event/Promotional Management:
  • Responsibilities include: Design and layout of tables, signage, discounts application in system and event execution
