The full-time Deputy Clerk of Court provides support for departments in the Clerk of Courts office. The position requires independence in implementing personal and procedural control over the specific program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Maintain and update department files and cases daily
* Communicate on telephone and in person with public and staff
* Supply pertinent information and refer inquires as needed
* Calculate and collect fees and issue receipts daily
* Clerk courtroom hearings and transcribe and process information as needed
* Draft correspondence independently for department daily
* Process documents resulting from experience with department policies and procedures daily
* Gather and organize data for department as needed
* Serve as the expert in resolving problems of a complex clerical nature in specific program
* Assist in developing and revising operating procedures affecting program areas as needed
* Maintain department activities in the assigned department daily
* Duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Minimum of a High School diploma. Ideally supplemented by an advanced education in office procedures and computer knowledge.
Other:
LANGUAGE SKILLS * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS * Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY * Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
