General Summary:
This position provides day-to day employee relations and administrative support. Assists in the execution of HR programs and processes. Coordinates consistent and effective application of policies, procedures, and practices of the Human Resources department. Manage and is responsible for select HR processes, workforce planning, staffing, training and development, compensation, and benefits.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides administrative support to the HR department to include, but not limited to: entering performance reviews and reprimands, administration of the company uniforms, I9 tracking, completing PA9s, HR Batches, termination paperwork and entering time off requests.
- Acts as a resource to employees by answering questions regarding human resources or labor relations related topics.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate information on the company employment website. Develops job postings from job descriptions. Composes and places employment advertisements on various media sources. Coordinates attendance at job fairs or other recruitment activities as needed.
- Assists in recruitment of production and coop/intern positions. This includes coordination of interviews, pre-employment testing, physicals, drug screens, and background checks.
- Welcomes employees on their first day by completing new hire paperwork and facilitating new hire orientation.
- Maintains applicant flow logs and efficient search files. Ensures accurate records are maintained in compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
- Participates in college recruitment and community job fairs to find skilled talent that fit our staffing needs.
- Completes employment offers and paperwork for temporary employees moving to regular, full time positions.
- Assists in the documentation of company policies, procedures, and practices.
- Assists HR management team in the areas of compensation and benefits, employee relations, and training and development.
- Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database.
- Completes special projects by clarifying project objective; setting timetables and schedules; conducting research; developing and organizing information; fulfilling transactions.
- Updates personnel records for benefit plans participation such as insurance and personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
- Assist HR department with special projects and programs such as employee recognition, wellness, benefits, recruiting, performance, management and employee surveys.
- Performs miscellaneous clerical functions and special projects as assigned.
- Backup to Receptionist: general admin support, answering phone calls, ordering lunches, setting up meetings, mail service, ordering supplies, processing badges, making new hire folders and benefit binders, etc.
Job Qualifications:
Associate degree in Human Resources or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience of 1-3 years).
Excellent interpersonal skills- Time management skills to organize daily planning, activities, and meet deadlines.
