GPI is seeking a motivated Assistant Transportation Planner with one or more years of experience to join our team in the New England region. Ideally, we are seeking someone who has a strong work ethic, a desire to learn, the willingness to work collectively with our team, and the ability to work on multiple concurrent projects.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Ability to obtain and interpret demographic and other transportation planning data.
- Utilize existing state and local GIS data and applications to prepare spatial analyses, and develop interpretative maps and analyses for transportation planning and public outreach purposes.
- Develop and maintain ArcGIS Story Maps.
- Support with the research, writing, and presentation of reports and technical memoranda regarding transportation projects.
- Assist with public outreach including preparation of presentation materials, public input surveys, and attendance at public events such as information sessions, meetings, field visits, evening events, and occasional weekend events are a responsibility for this position.
- Attend project and client meetings as required
What You Bring to the Table:
- Knowledge of multi-modal transportation planning practices and principles.
- Familiarity with and desire to learn varying GIS applications for transportation planning purposes.
- Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- A willingness to learn on the job.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in planning or related field
- One year of professional experience in the transportation industry, additional professional experience is desirable.
- Experience with ArcGIS, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suites is preferred, but not required.
