Data Management Assistant

GPI Geospatial is seeking a motivated Data Management Assistant with one (1) to three (3) years of relevant IT experience to support our Geospatial division. This IT position is responsible for maintaining and analyzing data throughout its lifecycle. Additional responsibilities include maintaining, analyzing, troubleshooting, and repairing computer systems, hardware, and computer peripherals. They will be expected to document, maintain, upgrade or replace hardware and software systems and maintain user account information, including rights, security, and system groups. All applicants must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical staff members. This position will work under the immediate supervision of the Regional IT Manager and rely on established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with documenting data and IT systems
• Aid with projects and initiatives to the extent that they can without adversely affecting their ability to support their primary job responsibilities
• Assist in negotiations of vendor contracts and services.

Qualifications:

• Associates Degree or equivalent experience
• At least one (1) year of relevant IT experience
• Software experience 
  • Windows 7, 10.
  • Microsoft Hyper-V and Microsoft Server 2012 and 2016
  • Patch and update server equipment, and Check server event logs
  • Configure AV scans to run monthly on all servers
  • Track software licenses installed on the equipment
  • Support and maintain user account information, including rights, security, and system groups
  • Manage Microsoft O365 portal, and Microsoft Azure Files, VMs, Backups, and Microsoft Exchange Online
• Hardware experience:
  • HP Proliant and Dell servers, desktops, and laptops
  • Manage tablet and mobile devices
  • SonicWALL NSA firewalls
  • Netgear PoE network switches
  • Canon copiers and Canon plotters
  • Hardware replacement/warranty monitoring
  • Format and re-issue existing workstations
  • Archiving of data and disposal of old equipment
  • Order new hardware and software as needed
  • APC power failure test/BIOS settings
• A , Network , Security
• MSCE / MCITP certifications or equivalent experience
• Ability to work alone, analyze problems, and develop and deploy solutions
