UESI seeks a Nuclear Coatings Engineer to support our existing and future clients from our Fort Pierce, FL office. In this role, you will work under the direction of the Sr. VP of Nuclear Operations, and develop the knowledge, skills, and expertise to assume a greater role as a Nuclear Safety Coatings subject matter expert. This is a Fort Pierce, FL resident position, with relocation assistance provided in some cases.

Responsibilities:
- Work with existing and prospective clients regarding request for proposals by developing and executing bid cost proposals, cost estimates and proposal documents.
- Lead operational planning and projects, and organize and negotiate the schedule, allocation of personnel and equipment resources. Coordinate with the customer’s project management personnel.
- Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of equipment and systems, including diving, inspection and construction equipment.
- Participate in management of Coatings Program staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation and disciplinary actions.
- Analyze existing Coatings Program operations and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the personnel, procedures and processes
- Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent operational activities.
- Conduct research and remain current with the latest technologies and solutions in support of procurement efforts.
- Assist in the development and implementation functional policies and procedures, including those for operational procedures, standards, purchasing and outside contractor/vendor utilization.
- Assist in supporting the Nuclear Quality Assurance Program as directed by the Nuclear Quality Assurance Manager
Qualifications:
- B.S. in Mechanical, Chemical or Materials Engineering or closely related field
- Experience in nuclear safety related coatings.
- Work experience in construction leadership and construction management
- Familiar with material characterization methods applicable to ceramics, ceramic composites and coatings.
- Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly; apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; and determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of complex problems.
- Able to perform complex tasks in one or more areas; capable of representing the organization as a prime technical contact and lead a team of moderately experienced professional employees.
- Experience with writing proposals is highly desirable.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance is a must.
- AMPP Level III & ANSI Level III preferred
- OSHA 30 required or ability to obtain within 6 months
