Greensville County is accepting applications for an opening in the Building Inspection’s office. The Greensville County Building/Fire Code Administrator performs complicated technical and administrative work overseeing the administration and enforcement of state building codes; and does related work as required.
Work is performed under general supervision of the Assistant County Administrator. Supervision is exercised over the Building Inspector/Rehab Specialist and the Maintenance Supervisor.
Education: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in building construction or related field; and two years of experience in building, fire, electrical, and plumbing codes enforcement and inspections work or ten years of experience in general contracting and/or code enforcement.
Special Licenses/Certifications: Possession of an appropriate driver's license valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Certified Building Official, certified Property Maintenance Code Official, and certified Fire Official must be obtained within the first year of employment.
