What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finance Manager position at Greentrike?
Position Description: The Finance Manager is responsible for excellent practices in the management of the organization’s accounting function, annual operating budget, capital campaign budget, and fiduciary operating policies and practices. Some specific activities are:
· Manage daily finance activities and department staff, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash deposits, month-end close, B&O, and Sales/Use tax reporting
· Supports the Director Team and Managers with designing and implementing annual and special/capital budgets
· Manages all facets of daily finance, including banking accounts, cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and Monthly Reconciliation of Balance Sheet Accounts with Director Team
· Monthly, provide Income Statement and Balance sheet
· Informs each Greentrike team of budget performance, actively advising and representing Greentrike’s best interests through - revenue briefings and expense reports, as appropriate.
· With oversight from the Deputy Director, manage cash flow and AP
· Works with management to manage accounts receivable, including tuition payments and vendor payments
· IRS and other legal reports are filed timely and accurately
· Monthly, attend and present at Board of Directors Finance Committee
· Assist managers and directors in understanding financial information
· Leads annual budget process
· Assures financial records are kept supporting all grant and external reporting requirements
· Develop and maintain financial systems including interfaces between systems
· Keeps permanent/legal records
· Coordinates and works with contractors, including financial advisors, as necessary
· Prepares reports for the Finance Committee and Board of Directors
· Coordinates with CPA firm to complete 990 and annual review or audit
· Supervises Finance & HR Coordinator’s work
· Participate in events, conferences, and staff meetings as required
· Other duties as assigned
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Excellent time management and organization skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and deliver quick turnaround in an environment demanding high energy, attention to accuracy and detail, discretion, flexibility, and superior work
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Excellent Customer Service
- Self-motivated learner with the ability to work independently
- Experience with WA B&O, Sales and Use tax regulations
- Experience working with details and willingness to sort through data
- Excellent reasoning skills
- Advanced understanding and experience with Excel and Cloud-based financial systems
- Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner, and to tactfully handle stressful situations and negotiate and resolve conflicts while observing organizational protocols
- Collaborative working style: ability to work collegially as a member of a team to ensure coordinated, and efficient workflow as well as a proven ability to forge and maintain effective working relationships with Greentrike staff, volunteers, and community partners
- Ability to be an innovative and resourceful problem-solver, eager to take initiative to handle tasks, proactively anticipate and prioritize needs, and resolve issues quickly with minimal supervision
- Excellent use of Windows-based software (Word, Excel, Publisher) with proficiency in current business correspondence norms and familiarity with Google Suite (email, documents, calendar)
- Excellent attention to detail

Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or equivalent experience
· 5 years of progressive experience in accounting
· Must be able to sit and work at a desk for up to 8 hours; reasonable accommodations can be made
· Must pass a comprehensive background check
· Must be eligible to work in the United States
Preferred Experience:
· Financial experience in a non-profit setting
· Understanding GAAP, particularly in a non-profit setting
· Experience with QuickBooks
