The Opportunity:
The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate pricing and quotes for projects by gathering information and analyzing data from previous projects. This position will create proposals by accurately projecting the quantity of materials, equipment, and labor needed to complete a given project. You’ll create formal quotes that will be communicated to the customer. Located in Cokato, MN, you will work at the company headquarters alongside experts in engineering, manufacturing, and the food and dairy industry.
Your Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate quotations for customers in a timely manner
- Review completed projects analyzing labor and material actual costs verses estimated costs to refine future proposals
- Simultaneously manage multiple quotations requests
- Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documents to facilitate bidding
- Review data to determine material and labor requirement for projects
- Work with vendors and subcontractors to get pricing
- Coordinate lead-times with project managers, Manufacturing and Purchasing
- Interact with customers to discuss questions on quotations
- Manage relationships with outsourced manufacturing partners
- Other duties as assigned
Your Education & Experience:
- 3 years of estimating experience required, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience in food processing facility preferred
Your Skills & Attributes:
- Advanced MS Excel skills are critical to success
- Must be a self-starter
- Demonstrated strong communication skills
- Ability to work under limited supervision
- Strong ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail
- Strong analytical, organizational and time management skills
