Within Itron’s Outcomes product management business unit, this Senior Product Manager - Grid Management - will be responsible for setting and executing Itron’s strategy for low voltage Grid Monitoring and Control via (DI) Distributed Intelligence. Grid Management is a key growth area for Itron, and this role will be instrumental in leading the product growth and commercialization globally.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Commercial Solution ownership and driving revenue growth globally.
• Be the evangelist for DI and drive change in the industry.
• Drive business driving for the Grid Management/Distributed Intelligence product line including portfolio strategy, market segmentation, competitive assessment, business cases, pricing, product definition and positioning.
• Engage with customers and key stakeholder to validate new product ideas and requirements.
• Drive product portfolio adoption, identify customer opportunities, define Go-to-market, collaborate with sales and marketing to close bookings.
• Make priority call and business trade-offs as needed.
• Represent the product line in trade shows and customer facing presentations.
• Collaborate with multiple levels across the organization to ensure alignment: Sales, BMD, Finance, Sales Ops / Sales Enablement/ Tech Sales, Svc Delivery / GMS, Networks BU; collaborate externally with Customers and eco-system partners.
Qualifications/Education
• 5 years of experience in electric distribution utility within grid operations and/or planning.
• 5 years of product management experience building business cases, making priority calls, discussing requirements with customers, developing roadmaps and strategic plans.
• Experience with HW, SW, recurring revenue and managed services business models.
• Excellent understanding of the smart grid eco-system, including field equipment, grid monitoring and control systems (such as SCADA, ADMS, OMS).
• Good understanding of behind the meter Distributed Energy Resources (including EV, solar inverters, batteries), and how those DERs are changing the utility power delivery model.
• Familiar with utility challenges, use cases, and market opportunities, in addition to utility business case modeling.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or Engineering.
• Experience with data management and data analytics is a plus.
• MBA is a plus.
