That continuous connection is our commitment to our community.  Lumos and NorthState are sponsored by EQT Infrastructure, one of the most successful global private equity firms in the fiber industry space.   The Position Operations Service Tech / Daleville, VA Basic knowledge of all Job Specifications of Technician l. Install, test and maintain Voice, Broadband, and Video services and equipment in residential homes and businesses on copper and fiber networks. Install copper and fiber facilities to residential and business premises. Install fiber Multi-Ports and the removal of company owned ONT’s as required. Turn-up, provision, test, maintain and troubleshoot GPON/PON, Routers, Switches, DSL equipment, etc. Installs cross-connects at cross connect and LCC cabinets for new copper/fiber circuits.  Performs other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor. Training Components Technician l – (Non-Inclusive) Zhone, SmartRG, AirTies, Cabling & Testing, Light Level Meter, and various other training that is deemed necessary to support the Technician I position.   Duties & Responsibilities Installations / Troubleshooting basic Voice, Data & Video services on Copper and Fiber Working on computer for Data entry - Updating Trouble Tickets, Orders, Timesheet’s, system & equipment provisioning, Internet Services, Etc. WI-FI - Provision Wi-Fi to include SSID configuration, Guest Network Access, and wireless firewall options.  Troubleshoot and repair wireless issues.  Installation/Troubleshooting customer premise equipment (Residential Gateways, Routers, switches, security systems, station wiring, etc.) Installation / Troubleshoouing Circuits (Voice, Broadband, etc.) Qualifications Education: High School diploma and zero to two years’ experience in related field.   Experience: Zero to two years of Telephony industry knowledge and/or experience Zero to two years knowledge and/or experience with copper and fiber facility installations Ability to read and understand cross connects for copper cabinets and fiber LCC cabinets and Splitters. Understanding and knowledge of GPON and Fiber based services and equipment Understanding and knowledge of video services and associated hardware Understanding and knowledge of voice services and associated hardware Ability to make business decisions that support customer expectations as well as provide positive benefit for the organization. Willingness to attend various schools, training classes, seminars as deemed necessary. Key Competencies: Reside within 30 minutes of normal reporting location including home-based. Quality – Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Applies feedback to improve performance; Monitors own work to ensure quality. Ability to climb a utility pole (not applicable in CLEC areas) and work aloft, carry and handle extension ladder, step ladder as applicable to Job responsibilities. Capable of lifting 50 lbs. and transport 50 feet. Availability to work various hours, schedules, and weather conditions, including weekends, holidays, overtime, and callouts as required.
