What are the responsibilities and job description for the Officer, Development position at Griffin Hospital?
MAIN FUNCTION: The Development Officer builds mutually beneficial, long-term partnerships between Griffin Hospital and individual donors. The Officer will develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of new and existing donors through the Grateful Patient program and other initiatives.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Identifies, cultivates and solicits prospects and donors, working creatively with Development Fund and hospital leadership.
- Devises and implements cultivation and solicitation strategies.
- Develops, writes and presents proposals in alignment with hospital priorities and donor’s interest.
- Initiates and maintain contact with current, past and prospective donors, promoting positive donor relations. Acknowledge donors through public and private recognition activities / events.
- Create and implement moves management plans. Track and report progress using specific metrics.
- Participate in after-hours community events
- Participate as an important member of the Griffin Hospital Development team, assisting in the creation of a strategic plan for the individual donor program for the Development Fund as a whole.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience, success, and progressive responsibility in fundraising with a minimum of three to five years experience.
- Experience motivating and managing volunteer leadership and senior executives.
- Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge database and Microsoft Office Suite.
