Reports to: AP of Academics
Summary Description: The Librarian Aide works with the Designated Librarian and Intervention Coordinator in the support and implementation of the Grow Academy (GA) Blended Learning model.
Duties and Responsibilities will include:
Promote love of reading and working with teachers on literacy needs, etc.
Collaborates with Humanities/English Direct Instructors in support of thematic unit lessons (reading and writing across the curriculum interdisciplinary units
Supports students in the blended learning model of instruction through small group instruction
Promotes LifeLong Reading and/or the Science of Reading.
Checks out Library books and materials using Alexandria software
Organizes library books and materials
Designing MS Word, Excel, and Google Docs to support Library organizational efforts
Prepares new books and materials for circulation
Participates in ongoing professional development opportunities
Prepares and Facilitates the Library elective lessons for grades UPK-8th
Inventories and catalogs schoolwide Chromebooks and all additional technology
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Familiarity with the Dewey system
Passion for reading
Understanding of the science of reading
Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Google Docs (Alexandria Software a plus)
Experience working with ELL students a plus
Fluency in Spanish preferred
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor degree in Education, Liberal Arts or related field preferred
Experience in education or field focused around the importance and support of reading
