Reports to:  Director of Social-Emotional & Differentiated Learning


Description:  The Coordinator of Data, Assessment & Accountability plays a critical role in the academic and strategic success of Grow Public Schools – its school leaders, faculty, staff and students.  Based in the Charter Management Organization(CMO), the data coordinator functions as the primary network lead on all data & assessments. This person will support the CMO and site leadership teams so school leaders can focus on academic achievement.


The coordinator of data, assessment & accountability will ensure the highest support and accountability standards are applied to the areas of student information system and other education software; academic achievement and assessment data; and data activities between the school and the external back-office provider; and, annual charter authorizer oversight.



Duties and Responsibilities:


Tactical: Collaborating with school principals and CMO leadership, the coordinator will:


  • Support the management of school-based Student Information Systems (SIS), ensure school teams are well equipped and trained to effectively deploy SIS systems.


  • Oversee data management across sites supporting site leaders with data exchanges for a variety of Grow audiences (authorizers, Board of Directors, Executive leadership, and school sites) in pursuit of network-wide ambitious goals.  


  • Assists leadership in the development, implementation, and  coordination of the district’s educational technology professional development  plan


  • Assist with deployment and maintenance of educational software including managing teacher and student accounts/profiles. 


  • Assist with gathering data for annual charter authorizer oversight visits, ensuring schools are fully prepared before, during and after the visits.  Support principals in the aggregation of data for authorizer documents.


Strategic:  Collaborating with the CMO leadership team, with input from school leadership where necessary, the data coordinator will:


  • Develop and maintain network-wide dynamic school dashboards benchmarking key academic and culture metrics to ensure a reliable early warning/at-risk system.


  • Develop longitudinal and cohort analysis of student academic achievement across the Grow Public Schools network.


  • Assist in the longitudinal data collection and analysis of GPS alumni using academic performance data, college admissions and persistence rates.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of and experience with charter schools.
  • Understanding of data entry and descriptive analytics
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively on projects. 
  • Strong entrepreneurial disposition. 



Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Must have previous experience with student information systems and other educational technology software. 
  • Proficient with data analysis and visualization software (e.g. RStudio, Tableau, Google Data Studio, Microsoft Power BI, etc.)
  • Charter school experience, preferred.
