Barista

As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting and serving high-quality coffee beverages and providing excellent customer service. Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, such as espresso, cappuccino, latte, and brewed coffee, according to customer preferences and established recipes.
• Operate espresso machines and other equipment needed to make coffee drinks.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring proper sanitation and hygiene practices are followed at all times.
• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, taking their orders accurately and efficiently.
• Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, making recommendations, and addressing any concerns or complaints.
• Handle cash transactions and operate the cash register, ensuring accuracy in handling payments and providing correct change.
• Assist in managing inventory levels by restocking supplies and monitoring stock rotation to ensure freshness.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a smooth workflow and ensure a positive work environment.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations, to ensure compliance.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a barista or in a similar role is preferred but not required; we are willing to train the right candidate.
• A genuine passion for coffee and a desire to continually learn about different brewing methods and coffee varieties.
• Knowledge of espresso machines and other coffee equipment, with the ability to make adjustments and troubleshoot issues.
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality beverages consistently.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, early evenings, weekends, and holidays.

- Take customer orders and accurately enter them into the POS system or cash register
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and addressing any concerns
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including restocking supplies and cleaning equipment
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines when handling and preparing food items
- Operate espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and other equipment to prepare beverages

Experience:
- Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in the food industry or retail environment
- Knowledge of basic math skills for cash handling and making change
- Familiarity with using a POS (Square) system or cash register for transactions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks and ensure efficient service
- Understanding of coffee brewing techniques and knowledge of different coffee beans and blends is a plus

The starting hourly rate is $12.00 per hour plus tips. Please note that this position may require standing for long periods of time and occasional lifting of heavy objects. Food handling certification may be required depending on local regulations.
