The Batch Builder blends and mixes a variety of bulk materials according to mixing guide instructions. The BB is responsible for following all verbal and written batching instruction, accurately identifying, staging and weighing materials to be used. The BB makes batch adjustments under the direction of the QA manager. The BB is independent in operational and procedural activities answering directly to the Production Lead or department Supervisor.
Primary Objective
Ø Accurately by procedure and written instruction produce finished bulk batches of liquid products according to the production plan.
Major responsibilities
Ø Work with supervisor or team lead to best allocate resource
Ø Follow direction without issue
Ø Ensure procedures are followed and report deficiencies when needed
Ø Housekeeping and organization
Ø Be self-governing and responsible for the required job duties.
Specific Responsibilities
Ø Ensure that mixing instructions and procedures and all required information is recorded accurately.
Ø Ensure that tools, tanks and pumps are cleaned properly eliminating cross-contamination.
Ø Before the shift starts the BB will understand the production plan and his role in it. This direction is from the Bottling Supervisor or Manager.
Ø Punctuality, responsibility and attendance are paramount.
Ø Lead by example and promote: “Every thing has a place and every place has a thing.” Following GMP related to Griot’s raw material stocking system.
Ø Proper understanding and use of PPE
Ø Promote general Bottling Department rules.
Ø Pulling and returning raw materials for use on the floor.
Ø Use of an electric reach truck to move materials and bulk products from location to location.
Job Requirements
Ø Must be proficient with all batch building equipment.
Ø Familiar with bonding and grounding of static electricity.
Ø HazMat familiar. Training is a plus
Ø Able to stand and work while standing for 8 to 12 hours a day.
Ø Repeated lifting of 55 pound bags and pails.
Ø Capable of palletizing and de-palletizing full drums of material.
Ø Detail oriented in written and verbal communication.
Ø Ability to neutrally mediate and deescalate minor personal conflicts with co-workers
Ø Flexible and excepting of direction and change of direction
Ø Must be willing to have fun in our garage.
