Shred Machine Operator

SUMMARY: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Shred operator is responsible for destroying customer's confidential documents by operating a shredding and baling machine.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Work in an environment that is not climate controlled.

● Setup, operate, and tend to the shredding and bale machine.

● Monitor operation of shredding machine to detect malfunction.

● Sort through all materials to be shredded to assure appropriate bales are created for recycling.

● Shred the contents of 30 to 50 bins

● Notify the Warehouse Manager immediately of any situations that prevent you from completing your assigned work.

● Ability to meet attendance and punctuality requirements.

● Move bales using trucks, forklifts, or other equipment.

● Additional duties are assigned as necessary.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

● High school diploma required

● Good physical condition, ability to lift 35 to 75 lbs. continuously each day

● Good organizational skills.

● Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
