At this time, Gross Schechter Day School, located in Pepper Pike, Ohio, is seeking an Experienced Director for their Early Childhood Center with an enrollment of over 112 infants through pre-K students.

This unique combination graduates critical, forward-thinking learners who are confident of their Jewish identities, ability to make positive changes and capacity to find solutions to real world problems.
We engage our student body, parents, and grandparents to live the values of Mitzvot (commandments and good deeds), Kehillah (supportive community), K’lal Yisrael (love and care for all people), and Tzionut (connection to Israel). Further, students understand and experience Kedusha (Holiness) in an egalitarian environment, providing each student with the keys to feel comfortable and a sense of belonging in a multitude of Jewish settings.
The ideal Candidate will be available no later than June 2022 and is well prepared and eager to fulfill the following responsibilities:
- Aligns all Early Childhood Center and Infant Care Center plans, activities and work with Gross Schechter Day School’s mission and Jewish values
- Ensure the program is not only providing a safe environment, but also one in which they will develop the skills and mindset required for a successful transition into more formal education.
- Performing classroom observations to ensure that their staff is implementing developmentally appropriate practices throughout the entire day.
- Understand where additional training and professional development are required.
- Overseeing the hiring and training of new staff members
- Writing and posting job descriptions, scheduling interviews, and evaluating candidates.
- Finding not just qualified candidates, but also candidates who fit with the philosophy and culture of their program.
- Make sure that their staff is being kept up-to-date on the latest research in child development, safety precautions, and developmentally appropriate practice.
- Conflict management and resolution, between a variety of constituents
- Manages staff
- Oversees daily operations
- Address potential challenges quickly
- Develop the Jewish and General Studies curriculums and ensure the school meets any standards set by law.
- Creates policies
- Works as part of the schools administration team
- Demonstrating highly effective organizational, time management, and multitasking skills

- Creating a schedule that allows for teachers to take classes to earn more credits in ECE or towards their admin credentials.
Professionalism and Education
- Bachelor's degree in Early Education or related field. Graduate school education is ideal.
- Previous years experience in the classroom and administration preferred
- Experience implementing and adhering to all government and accreditation standards.
- Maintain their professionalism with their staff and their parents.
- Dressing appropriately, speaking calmly, responding to challenges with patience and grace, and maintaining a professional presence on social media.
- Strong Communication Skills

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
