Field Service Engineer III- Trainee

Our Field Service Engineer III is our introductory/trainee position.  The FSEIII will complete RHZ’s on-site training program which is designed to give someone with the correct core aptitudes a firm grounding in hardware used in industrial automation applications. This will include hydraulics, electrical systems, pneumatics, gas trains and burners.  In addition to the base knowledge required to work in the field, the FSEIII will learn troubleshooting and how to understand the equipment as complete systems, not just individual parts.  The training program will give the FSEIII the skills necessary to become an independent field service technician.  It is assumed that the FSEIII will complete the basic training within 12 weeks of starting work, although the program can be expanded or contracted based on aptitude and past knowledge – becoming fully independent within 4-6 months.

The goal of training:

• Maintain customer equipment, including familiarity with the automation/PLC programming involved (it is NOT expected for an FSEIII to be able to manipulate or write code)
• Independently perform routine maintenance, supervise subcontractors, generate site reports, and troubleshoot equipment problems
• Represent RHZ, and know when to ask/dig for more answers

What is in it for you:

Upon completion of training, the FSEIII will be eligible for a raise.  After 6 months of successful service as a fully trained FSEIII, they will be eligible for introductory training on PLC Programming.  In addition to the systems and troubleshooting knowledge required of a successful FSEIII, demonstrating the ability to read and understand PLC programming will be required for promotion to FSEII. 

Requirements:

• Basic computer skills, especially Microsoft Suite
• Comfortable with tools and machinery
• Basic knowledge of how computer programming works
