MEC Material Handler

Description

Responsible for the timely and qualitative completion of tasks related to receipt, stocking, and distribution of materials and supplies. Ensure that assigned functions are conducted in accordance with established policies and procedures, that quality, productivity and distribution standards are met or exceeded, and that related documentation is accurate and complete. Daily involvement in receiving shipments, returns, rotation, distribution of inventories and product within the company. Responsible for material location, placement and accuracy of inventory.  Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and trains other associates within the department.

  Essential Functions & Basic Job Duties:

- Assist shipping, receiving, and returns with unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, and matching purchase orders to sales orders; distributes products to associates for processing

- Fill requisitions, work orders, shipping orders to determine items to be moved, distributed, or shipped

- Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to departments or other designated areas; responsible for accuracy of inventory

- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code

- Ensure warehouse and production areas are acce ssible and safe for traffic

Job Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• High School Diploma or GED; valid driver’s license
• Knowledge of general warehouse operations such as order fulfillment and inventory counting
• Ability to calculate basic math functions of addition, subtraction, multiplications, and division using units of measure, whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
• Ability to use sound judgment to follow instructions and methods as well as make minor decisions
• Must be self-motivated, exhibit some initiative, be able to set priorities and efficiently execute duties, be a team player capable or working in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to communicate and interact effectively with team leaders, managers, staff, coworkers
• Excellent, proven attendance record over the past 12 months

 Desired Job Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of company products, materials, equipment, order fulfillment processes and procedures
• Experience with forklift and other warehouse vehicles/equipment
