Position Description: A/P Accountant

Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on, detail-oriented individual who will be responsible for the accounts payable function at GroveStreet. The individual will also serve as a trusted member of the team responsible for monitoring and organizing the firm’s finance document inbox. This role will be split between each business process. Specific responsibilities include:
Accounts Payable
- Responsible for the tracking, monitoring, payment, bookkeeping, and archiving of all invoices received. Work closely with management to ensure the full A/P process is seen through to completion.
- Monitor the A/P email inbox daily. Distribute emails and invoices as appropriate.
- Initiate payments via check, wire, credit card, and other forms of EFT through the firm’s bank website and online vendor portals.
- Responsible for the accounting and bookkeeping related to invoices paid at both the management company and investment vehicle levels. The candidate will regularly use the firm’s accounting software tools to create journal entries.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key billing contacts at external service providers in order to resolve queries pertaining to invoices.
Finance Inbox
- Organize and distribute incoming emails from fund managers.
- Download and track incoming financial statements, capital account statements, tax information reporting (K-1s, 1099s) and other tax / financial communications.
The individual will have the opportunity to work closely with various members of the Finance Team and Senior
Management.
Qualifications
- Four-year degree in accounting, finance, economics or business management.
- Prior experience in the asset management / private equity industry is desirable but not required.
- Prior accounting and/or accounts payable experience strongly preferred.
- Strong computer skills including a high proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Adobe Professional.
Experience with Intuit QuickBooks and/or Allvue (fka AltaReturn) is a plus.
